New Plano Dog Park at Bob Woodruff Park


A  new Plano dog park has recently been approved by the City of Plano.  The 7.5 acre dog park will be  located near the Shiloh and Park Blvd intersection.  The new dog park will have two large dog areas and a separate small dog area and a separate older dog area.   The park will have LED lighting, benches,  and water fountains for the dog owners.   Construction should start within the next two years.


Bob Woodruff Park, located at 2601 San Gabriel in East Plano is part of the City of Plano Trails System which connects to the Sante Fe Trail and the Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve. The park trails wind around Armstrong Middle School and Dooley Elementary School as well. The Plano dog park is about 3.7 miles and features a fishing pier, playground with swings, a sand volleyball court, restrooms, water fountains, an outdoor learning center and a large covered picnic pavilion. The trail that goes around just the lake is about .7 miles around and the trails that cover the entire park around about 5 miles long.
